Voyages of Discovery offers cruise vacations to exotic destinations at affordable prices. During the winter months, the MV Discovery calls at ports in South America, the South Pacific, the Caribbean, the Galapagos and Antarctica. During the summer, she sails to the Mediterranean, Northern Africa, Iceland and Greenland. The 20,000-ton ship was rebuilt in 2003, after an extensive, multi-million dollar refit--essentially a new ship with every modern safety feature and amenity. At 650 passengers, Discovery is big enough for cruising to faraway places, yet small enough to enter remote harbors that larger vessels cannot. Facilities include 351 cabins and suites, equipped with TVs and built-in hairdryers; three restaurants; five elegant lounges; a well-stocked library; modern health club and beauty center; two swimming pools, one with a retractable dome; two Jacuzzis; and duty-free boutiques. Senior officers are Scandinavian, British and Dutch; the cruise staff is American and European; the service staff is from the Philippines.
